Tesla's New Robot Optimus Gen 2: Pushes the Limits in Clothes Folding Task

Technology giant Tesla goes one step further in robot technology and draws attention with its latest model, Optimus Gen 2. Going beyond the improvements seen in previous Optimus models, Optimus Gen 2 can perform fine tasks such as folding and holding clothes with extraordinary success. This important development was announced with a post made by Tesla's CEO Elon Musk on his Twitter account.

In Musk's post, it is observed that Optimus Gen 2 can perform the folding and holding operations of people's clothes. However, Musk also emphasizes an important detail: The robot does not currently perform these tasks autonomously. The robot, which is intended to achieve full autonomy in the future, currently successfully performs these tasks by imitating the movements of an engineer.

This ability to imitate shows the point that robot technology has reached. A similar capability has previously been observed in models from leading robot manufacturers such as Boston Dynamics, Unitree and Hanson Robotics. Robots can now function impressively not only in terms of mechanical (hydraulic, pneumatic) properties, but also thanks to advances in artificial muscle technology.

Nowadays, robots are rapidly approaching the level of being able to perform complex tasks by imitating the joint functions of humans or animals. These developments show that fully autonomous humanoid robots are getting closer to our lives, with the influence of mechanical movement functions as well as advances in artificial muscle technology.

In the future, robots like Optimus Gen 2 are likely to expand the boundaries of technology by taking on more tasks in our daily lives.
