Robotization of Humans - Are we one step closer to robotization?

As the site editor, I watched it the day Apple introduced the Vision Pro, mixed reality glasses, in California. The first thing that came to my mind was the 1984 movie Terminator 1.

Terminator 1

From the first movie of the Terminator movie series to its latest production, we have had the opportunity to understand how many things can be seen through the eyes of a robot in movies. The terminator-T101 in the first movie scanned and analyzed his surroundings in detail while walking, and of course he could pretend to be a human because he had an artificial intelligence.

As it is known, Apple has been working on virtual reality and augmented reality technologies for a long time. There are many features in the latest Vision Pro. From its lightness, which is one of the most important features, to the high performance of the M2 and R1 chips it has used, it has come up with many new features.

When we look at it in general; It can offer unique experiences for home users. Its use for workplaces can also offer many advantages. Of course, it is useful to look at these technologies on the positive side:

Mixed reality can be used in education to enhance the learning experience and present information in a more interactive way. Students can explore topics such as history, geography or science in greater depth and experiment with virtual labs.

For businesses, mixed reality technology provides innovative solutions in business. By providing real-time instructions to their employees, companies can increase productivity and perform complex tasks more effectively.

It can be used in surgical operations or medical education to provide more information to doctors and healthcare professionals. It can also improve treatment processes by using it in patient treatment.

Examples like this could be multiplied. Mixed reality technologies can also have negative consequences.

Their use in the business world may cause less adverse effects due to certain rules and limitations, but more negative effects may occur as a result of personal use. Let's list them in a few items:

Addiction: Mixed reality experience can completely cut off users from the real world and lock them in the virtual world.

Privacy Violations: Mixed reality glasses can record or monitor what's going on around people.

Security Threats: Mixed reality glasses can affect users' perception of the real world.

Social Isolation: Mixed reality experiences can cut people off from the real world, reducing social interactions.

Distortion of Reality Perception: Mixed reality offers users new experiences by combining the real world with digital content. However, this can lead to a distortion of the perception of reality.
...

In the very near future, we will also see mixed reality devices as lenses that can be attached to the human eye. But I hope we don't compete with the terminators.
