Air Core Coil Calculation
We may need coils for use in many types of electronic circuits. For example, coils of different values may be required in an FM transmitter or an LC filtered electronic circuit.
The formula required for the calculation of the air core coil is as follows:
Air core single layer coil calculation:
L(ᶣ HENRY)= (0.39 x R2 x N2)/ (9 x R + 10 x L)
R=carcass diameter(cm),
N = number of turns,
L= winding length (cm)
Φ (wire diameter) = L/N
The numerical value resulting from this formula is read as micro Henry.
